Team Leader Ocean Modelling

Tomasz Dabrowski is a Team Leader of Ocean Modelling at the Marine Institute with 23 years' experience in the field of ocean modelling. He is currently in charge of ocean modelling service for the Irish government, which includes operational forecasting, climate modelling, scientific research, and development of the services supporting policy implementation and development. In the context of the Digital Twin of the Ocean, Tomasz is highly experienced in the development of downstream applications and tailored products and services that make ocean knowledge more accessible to the end users. For example, he contributed to the development of an award-winning Harmful Algal Bloom warning system and has led the development of numerous downstream services in the areas of aquaculture, fisheries, safety at sea, tourism, renewable energy, marine litter, policy support and other. He is currently a co-Chair of ICES Working Group on Oceanographic Products for Fisheries and Environment.
