Charalampos (Babis) Tsitlakidis is Head of the Destination Earth Sector at the European Commission’s DG CNECT. He leads the EU’s flagship initiative to develop a high-precision digital twin of the Earth to support environmental monitoring and policy. With a background in digital transformation and IT strategy, he previously worked on smart mobility and eHealth initiatives within the Commission. Before joining DG CNECT, he served as Chief Digital Officer for the city of Thessaloniki. His work bridges science, technology, and policymaking for sustainable digital innovation.
