Julia Vera is the Lead Manager for Business & Strategy at Seascape Belgium. As a blue economy market specialist and comms director, she is thrilled to be contributing to the deployment of EDITO, the core public infrastructure of the European Digital Twin Ocean.
She holds an MSc in Economics from the University of Amsterdam. Her professional career has developed within the environmental sector, having worked for international organizations such as KPMG and Spain’s Business Council for Sustainable Development, held management positions in public institutions, such as Fundación Biodiversidad (Spanish Ministry for the Environment), and successfully launched new networks and businesses.As founding Partner of Travelecoology, she spent a decade promoting sustainability in coastal and marine tourism. In 2015, she created and led WILDSEA Europe, a network advancing marine ecotourism through EU-funded initiatives like SOPHIE.
Julia is skilled in stakeholder engagement and has supported EU Interreg MED projects such as PANACeA. Since 2020, she has been a Senior Expert and Project Officer at Seascape Belgium, contributing across its portfolio, including the Blue Cloud Project.
