Dr. Jan Reubens is a senior researcher at the Flanders Marine Institute (VLIZ), where he leads Belgium’s permanent acoustic receiver network to monitor fish and invertebrate movements. His PhD work focused on tracking cod around offshore wind farms, and he currently chairs the COST Action “European Tracking Network.”
Since 2014, the Belgian network he coordinates has collected millions of detections across more than a hundred stations to support aquatic telemetry and biodiversity research.
