Carleton Immersive Media Studio - CIMS

Research Team Lead

Ken Percy is a PhD candidate in architecture at Carleton University and Research Team Lead for BIM and the Digital Twin at the Carleton Immersive Media Studio, where he develops open-source integrations of BIM, GIS, and survey data for the web browser. Over more than a decade at CIMS he has led the digital documentation of Canada's Parliament Hill and the digitally assisted fabrication of heritage elements for the new Senate, from the maple-leaf carvings on the chamber doors to the carved waving Canadian flags framing the thrones. His doctoral research traces the digital tool path back to the sixteenth-century masonry drawings of Philibert de l'Orme.
