Jackie Ashkin

Jacqueline (Jackie) Ashkin a doctoral candidate in her final year at the Centre for Science and Technology Studies (CWTS), Leiden University, the Netherlands. Her research focuses on understanding the role of computational practices, especially numerical modeling and digital twinning, in scientific knowledge of coastal environments in the Netherlands. Her research is part of the project FluidKnowledge, led by Prof. Dr. Sarah de Rijcke and funded by the European Research Council. In 2022 she participated in EU TalentOn as part of the Mission Area Restore Our Oceans & Waters, where her team won first place. She received her M.A. (Hons, First Class) in Social Anthropology from the University of St Andrews, Scotland in 2018.
