Thomas Klein is head of department of environmental analysis at the Swedish Agency for Marine and Water Management. He has more than 20 years of experience working with environment, climate, sustainable development, data management and digitalization. Thomas holds a PhD degree in meteorology and has also been working with the Swedish Meteorological and Hydrological Institute and the European Environment Agency.
The Swedish Agency for Marine and Water Management is the responsible government agency tasked to protect, restore and ensure sustainable use of freshwater resources and seas including fisheries management. Timely, reliable and relevant information is key to achieve the Agency’s mission. The digital twin of the ocean will provide a wealth of high-quality information in support of the sustainable management of the aquatic environment and deliver urgently needed capabilities to achieve national and European environment, climate and biodiversity goals.
