Professor

Igor Mayer is a professor of Serious Games, Innovation & Society at Breda University of Applied Sciences (BUas), the Netherlands. This professorship is affiliated to the Academy for AI, Games and Media (AGM). His R&D group is a partner in the EU Horizon Green Deal ILIAD Digital Twins of the Ocean initiative (DTO), working on game-based approaches to DTO. Igor Mayer organized, designed and moderated a great many gaming-simulation sessions for complex decision-making and planning, with politicians, policy-makers and stakeholders around the globe. One featured project is the Maritime Spatial Planning (MSP) Challenge simulation platform (www.mspchallenge.info) with editions for the North Sea, Baltic Sea, Celtic Sea, Caribbean Sea and Mediterranean Sea regions. Since January 2021, he is an endowed professor "Playful Organizations and Learning Systems" in the department of Organization Studies, Faculty of Social and Behavioral Sciences, Tilburg University. He is a regular visiting professorship in universities around the world, in particular Dalian University of Technology, China.
